Custom Furniture

While I no longer actively pursue commissions to build custom furniture I do, from time to time, welcome the opportunity to work with discriminating customers to design and build special pieces of furniture for home or office. It is important to note that "special" and "custom" need not imply expensive. Usually these commissions come about because the furniture desired is not available from a traditional source. The issue may be a simple matter of limited styles, size and configuration, or the species of wood and finish available. Whatever the reason for choosing a custom piece, each is designed with input from the customer and then skillfully executed using the domestic or exotic lumber of the customer's choice (reserving my prerogative to suggest alternatives) as well as hardware specifically chosen by the customer from catalog of offerings. Each project is customer driven and begins when you contact me with a description of what you want to achieve. Preliminary discussion leads to design. Design approval is followed by a cost estimate; and, acceptance of my estimate leads to construction.

Some of my recent work is presented below. For those of you who are woodworkers my plan is to provide links to working drawings so that you can build these projects in your own shops.
